The Gypsies Top Destinations of 2017
As we settle into the New Year and take stock in where we want to travel our mind is consumed with tons of choices. In designing a unique cultural experience for our readers our list consisted of over 20 destinations. As we all would like nothing better than to travel and explore the world we recognized that absorbing cultures requires time. That being said we narrowed our list down to our Top 10 picks of 2017. A reality check was definitely needed and we were faced with the decision to put some of our bucket list destinations on hold until 2018. We hope that you enjoy this list as much as we will enjoy planning our itinerary and packing our bags to indulge in the culture, fashion, food and music as we Gypset around the world.
Trinidad & Tobago
“The Twin Islands, Visited when I was eleven years old, with memories of hilltops, beautiful beaches and bats at night. As an adult I have been immersed into the culture through various relationships and I cannot wait to experience the magic of this incredible country.
On the Bucket List for the past 3 years finally getting to experience this country untouched by time is a definite treat and a journey of a lifetime. Picturesque views of the effects of a communist regime and a society withdrawn from all global influence.
Historically this beautiful country is rich, with its mixture of cultural traditions resulting in a wide diversity of expressions in fields such as art, cuisine, literature, and music making this destination a must see and a global stop for the Gypsy for sure.
Lisbon is recognized as a global city because of its importance in finance, commerce, media, entertainment, arts, international trade, education and tourism. Known as the oldest cities in the world before Paris, London and Rome. We are looking forward to unveiling some incredible historic cultural stories and places that are not on every tourists radar.
With an influence of Native American, Aztec and Mexican heritage this Country lends this itself to an extremely rich history. With a vibrant economy, incredible art scene and an incredibly diverse population, Mexico City is one of our most anticipated destinations of the year.
Inhabited by about 4 million people and the thirteenth-largest metropolitan area in Africa. The birthplace of Pan Africanism, home of The First President Kwame Nkrumah and the final resting place of scholar WEB Dubois. AKA The Gold Coast has been on my Bucket list for years. Rich in history, culture, art and education with a vibrant manufacturing industry makes this destination a definitive stop for 2017.
The 6th Continent in our series of Global nomadic adventures. Having conquered 5 continents in 2 years we are thrilled to finally see Australia and go “Down Under”.
With a 22 hour flight and an itinerary that we are quite excited to build, a country with so much to see and experience. On our travel bucket list for the past 5 years it is incredibly exciting to plan this journey.
It would be crazy to be so close and not touch this magical fairytale destination. With views that most wouldn’t believe and natural elements that are taken for granted, New Zealand is a must after seeing Australia.
Seoul South Korea
Today, Seoul is considered a leading and rising global city, resulting from an economic boom called the Miracle on the Han River which transformed it to the world’s 4th largest metropolitan economy. Known as the most wired city, we cannot wait to get our step our tech game up after this trip. Korean Style is also incomparable so the gypsies will definitely be bringing back some things for the Style Shop.
Tranquility, Peace, Serenity and beauty is a great way to end our year. Bali is a destination that we have dreamed of experiencing for years. Despite our plans last year to get there we are determined to get there for 2017.
