Gypsy Muse Grace Jones On the Big Screen
A Gypsy Muse to us for decades, and finally the moment has arrived. Her life will now be documented in a new biopic; The Musical of My Life set to be released in February of 2017 and we cannot wait! Grace Jones a Jamaican singer, songwriter, lyricist, supermodel, record producer, and actress. Born in 1948 in Spanish Town, Jamaica, and raised by her grandparents in Jamaica.
At age 18 Jones started as a model, initially in New York state, then in Paris, working for Yves St. Laurent, Claude Montana, and Kenzo Takada, and appearing on the covers of Elle, Vogue, and Stern working with Helmut Newton, Guy Bourdin, and Hans Feurer. Grace had an incredibly distinct look redefining beauty by American standards.
She is Confident, Vivacious, Boisterous, Disciplined and Bold. Iconic, Mysterious, Intelligent and Cultured. To commemorate BBC’s Film Divisions 25th Anniversary This project among many will mark the milestone. Sophie Fiennes has been asked to direct the film she previously worked with grace on the Pervert’s Guide to Ideology. The film is co-financed by BFI and the Irish Film Board and is sure to be a blockbuster.
In the works for over seven years (since 2005), this film is the very first cinematic journey of the Icon’s life. It will include both personal footage and famed musical stage performances definitive of both her public and private life. The film will be distributed in the UK in 2017 through Picture house Entertainment.
We will be front row and center when this drops as the inspiration in fashion, music and culture will move us beyond words.
